What's new wherever I am
It was a very interesting week. We thought we were entering into summertime weather. The week started hot, humid & dry. Under those conditions we awoke very early Tuesday morning to discover our AC had gone out.
Long story shortened, our 18 YO system used R22 freon which is no longer available, thereby requiring a whole new HVAC system. Fortunately, the heating & cooling company I had been using for years was able to do some fancy switching around and was able to find us a new system (no waiting for delivery) and fit us into their installation schedule. So, as I type this, they are here installing the new system.
On the fortunate side, our lower level (ranch style home) is fully finished, and we were able to live there (sleep) for the first days while the heat in the house was quite high. Thank goodness I had a new attic fan installed as part of our recent renovation. When it did cool some outside, I was able to pull that cooler (but humid) air into the house. Word to the wise: When something shows signs of starting to fail, replace it when it's convenient.
Net result, no golf for the last week!
